Notaker has dropped Too Smooth featuring Grey MTTR on Monstercat today. This song is not your average Notaker track, and that excites me. As much as I love an artist’s signature sound, what I love to see more is for them to go out their comfort zone and try something new. That being said it sounds like Notaker is perfectly comfortable writing groovier disco tracks.

Notaker would do his fans a disservice if he does not play the Soul Train Line Dance as the visuals to this song when he plays it live. If you don't believe me play Too Smooth while watching the YouTube video below, muted. When it eventually matches up to the beat its pure magic. The song shuffles in with more swagger than Don Cornelius. The funk-filled bass punches along behind the amazing vocals Grey MTTR. Finger snaps, smooth guitar riffs, retro synths all blend together in a perfectly balanced work art.

With the paths forged by Chromeo and DJ Dan, and the torch being carried Oliver’s Full Circle album, and even tracks like Too Smooth, you can see disco never died.
