Tiësto has been at the center the EDM world since before there was EDM, as one the world’s most prominent trance DJs. A question I have asked myself over and over again, where did a guy that has been such an inspiration and role model to the world’s most well-known DJ/Producers find his inspiration?

In a recent interview with In The Mix, the Dutch legendcalled Sven Väth the first DJ that inspired him. Going through the interview, he stated that he has also found inspiration from some powerhouses that he helped in mentoring including Martin Garrix and even one the raddest dudes in the biz, Madeon. He also mentioned gaining inspiration from fellow Moe Shalizi mate, Jauz.

The interview went on and he discussed what he has seen in the progression dance music. He noted that the formats for DJing have gone through insane transformation including the change from vinyl to USBs, lap tops and SD’s. He also made note huge changes in the studio with producers moving away from analogue.
There is always new coming out the Tiësto camp and he recently let out the information the full lineup for his London Steele Yard show, featuring Steve Angello and other high prile stars. Tiësto isn’t going anywhere and though he has slowed down his partying, he is still ripping decks across the globe. He also noted that in his mind, there is not one central place where EDM is thriving most, rather, he feels that it is HUGE globally, from Aurstalia to Asia to America.

In all, this is an extremely informative interview into the life and progression one EDM’s biggest names with a contract to keep his sounds spinnin’ in Vegas through 2020.
