Megan Thee Stallion has announced an early conclusion to her tenure in the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The rapper, who made history as the first female to portray the character Zidler, will perform her final show this Friday, May 1, several weeks ahead of her originally scheduled departure on May 17.
Health Challenges and Hospitalization
The decision follows a period of physical strain for the artist. Earlier this month, Megan was hospitalized for "extreme exhaustion and dehydration" after falling ill during a performance in New York. She later addressed her fans on social media, describing the incident as a "wake-up call" and admitting she had been pushing herself beyond her physical limits.
"Last night was a real wake-up call for me," she stated at the time. "I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t."
In a statement shared via Instagram, Megan expressed her gratitude for the production's cast and crew. "It’s been such an honour to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theatre!" she wrote. She also thanked her dedicated fanbase, known as the "Hotties," for their support throughout her Broadway journey.
Personal Life and Future Projects
Beyond her health concerns, Megan has also navigated a high-profile separation from NBA star Klay Thompson. The rapper confirmed the split through statements to People and on her Instagram Stories, citing issues regarding trust and fidelity. She emphasized her need to prioritize her own well-being, stating, "I’m taking this time to prioritise myself and move ahead with peace and clarity."
Megan Thee Stallion seemingly accuses Klay Thompson of cheating in new Instagram story:
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house...
got “cold feet”

Despite these personal and physical setbacks, Megan Thee Stallion remains active in her music career. Following the success of her 2024 album Megan: Act II, she has released singles such as "Whenever" and "Lover Girl" in 2025. She is currently working on the third installment of her album series, which is expected to be released later this year. Most recently, she collaborated with Nickelback for a new advertising campaign.
