London venues Village Underground and EartH are joining up to launch the VU Cycle Park, a secure bike storage facility inside Village Underground.
Local bicycle specialist Look mum no hands! will also offer bike checks and repairs, and speciality coffees will be on sale until lunchtime, and a range of IPAs, beer, wines and spirits will be sold from the venue’s bar for customers to take home.
It opens on July 20 this month with space for 400 bikes, operating Monday to Saturday from 6am to 10pm. Hourly rates will start from £1 per hour, or £5 for the day, rising to £7 if collecting after 6pm.

The plans for the VU Cycle Park have been devised while music venues are unable to operate as normal during the COVID-19 pandemic. All profits raised will go towards supporting Village Underground and EartH to stay open.
Auro Foxcroft, founder of Village Underground and EartH, said: “With music venues empty of artists and fans and struggling to survive, we wanted to do something positive with the situation. Local streets have been closed to encourage cycling and people are coming back to their work and social spaces, so we decided to put our venue to good use as a socially distant bicycle park, helping people to travel easily and safely until we can welcome audiences back to live music.”
