Lane 8 Announces New Artist Album, Cross Pollination II

Renowned melodic and deep house producer Lane 8 (Daniel Goldstein) has officially announced the release of his latest studio album, Cross Pollination II. Set to feature 14 tracks, the album is scheduled for a June 12th release through his esteemed record label, This Never Happened (TNH). The announcement was shared via X/Twitter, where the artist provided fans with a direct link to pre-save and pre-order the upcoming project.

This new body of work revisits a collaborative format that Lane 8 first introduced in 2020 with the original Cross Pollination project. While the initial installment featured 7 tracks and focused on uniting artists within the TNH circle during the global hiatus of live music, the sequel arrives six years later with double the content. Cross Pollination II expands its horizons beyond the label's core roster, incorporating high-profile collaborations with artists such as Rae Morris, Davey Havok, Gui Boratto, and Grigoré.

The rollout for the album has been underway since January, with five tracks already making their official debut. Many of these selections were first teased as IDs during Lane 8's celebrated live performances and seasonal mixtapes. Notable releases include 'Disappear' featuring sadHAPPY, which continues Lane 8's ongoing creative partnership with Sultan + Shepard. In February, he unveiled 'Penguin Parade' alongside Robby East, a frequent collaborator known for his work on the Dahlia EP and the Childish remix album.

The momentum continued with 'Adelie,' a collaboration with Singaporean producer MYRNE, and the March release of 'Tripwires' featuring Massane and barking continues. Most recently, on April 23rd, Lane 8 released 'World Is Mine,' a joint effort with Kasbo and BJOERN. Each track highlights the distinct production signatures of the collaborators while maintaining the cohesive, emotive atmosphere Lane 8 is known for.

The release of Cross Pollination II coincides with a major milestone for the artist's brand. This year marks ten years of This Never Happened as both a record label and a pioneer of the phone-free live event concept. To commemorate the anniversary, Lane 8 has curated a series of special shows in London and Colorado, which are set to run through mid-June, perfectly aligning with the album's arrival.
