Following an apology for lewd, intoxicated behavior and his subsequent admittance to sexually harassing a staff member of the Loves Saves The Day Festival in Bristol over the weekend, Jackmaster has been dropped from the line-up for the previously announced, upcoming show at Motion.
Bristol venue Motion took to Twitter to announce their "mutual" agreement to remove Jackmaster from the upcoming In:Motion event, scheduled to take place on September 18 with Amelie Lens and Floating Points also billed. "As always, Motion operates a zero tolerance policy toward any behaviour of this kind," their statement reads.
Jackmaster's apology also acknowledged the aforementioned "mutual" decision: "Out of respect to those involved, I will not be returning to Bristol to perform for the duration of this year. I hope to be back next year."
In his latest statement, Jackmaster admitted to being "abusive" and "attempting to kiss and grab people against their will." He explained that the behavior in question occurred during a GHB-induced blackout, a drug he says he's "struggled with for some time."
He's since met with the staff affected to apologize and has since offered a public explanation and apology as well. "I am truly disgusted and ashamed of myself, and I do not wish to use my substance abuse as an excuse for my actions," he writes. "This type of behaviour should not be tolerated—and was completely out of character from me. I have let myself, staff at the festival and those closest to me down. Although I don’t recognise the person recounted to me, I alone take full responsibility for my actions and the effect on those involved."
