Netflix has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated second season of Squid Game.

Over three years after its first season, South Korean Netflix series Squid Game has released a trailer for its upcoming second season. The dystopian series follows a competition in which contestants play a series of children’s games hoping to win a life changing cash prize. However, those who fail to complete the tasks are instantly killed.

In the trailer, a new set of contestants are ushered into the dorms as the games begin. Hoping to put an end to them, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) returns and tries to save the lives of the new contestants by urging them to leave. However, many of the contestants refuse to heed his advice, and demand for the games to continue in hopes of winning the money.

Squid Game season two arrives exclusively on Netflix on December 26. Back in August, Netflix confirmed that the series will return for its third and final season in 2025.

The new season follows Gi-hun, the winner from season one, as he becomes “determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport”. After using his prize money to hunt down those behind the game, he decides to re-enter the games in hopes of ending them.

Season two of Squid Game will also introduce a massive cast of new characters as another set of contestants enter the games. Newcomers include idol-actors like T.O.P, Jo Yu-ri and Yim Si-wan (Strangers from Hell), Kang Ha-neul (Forgotten), Park Gyu-young (Celebrity) and more.
