There's a history of electronic music exhibition heading to London.

The exhibition, Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers, will be held at the Design Museum in London, tracing electronic music back to its origins to the present day. Laurent Garnier will curate a soundtrack to go with the exhibition, with lighting and video synced to the music.

There’s a chance to step inside the visionary world of The Chemical Brothers, as visuals and lights are used to create a 3D immersive experience. Another 3D experience is the 30-minute showcase celebrating 50 years of legendary German group Kraftwerk.

The Chemical Brothers said: “Design is an essential element enhancing the experience of our live show. This new installation will give insight into how we work with Adam & Marcus (Smith & Lyall) on the visual aspect of our tours."

Featuring over 400 items, the exhibition is split into four different sections: Man and Woman Machine, Dancefloor, Mix and Remix, and Utopian Dreams and Ideals. Work by pioneers such as Jeff Mills and Daphne Oram will be on show, as will the revolutionary instruments that created the tracks. The connection electronic music has with art, design and fashion will also be explored, with works from Jeremy Deller and Andreas Gursky on show.

Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers runs from April 1 to July 26 at the Design Museum. Head here for more information and check some images out below.
