From being one of the earliest artists on Subsidia, to founding GRL GANG, and playing large scale festivals like Nocturnal Wonderland and Lost Lands, JEANIE is one of the freshest new DJ’s to the scene, injecting her own DNA into every one of her flips, remixes, and tracks. We aim to dig deeper into JEANIE’s own world full of skull crushing drops, neck breaking flips, and the heavy style that makes JEANIE an artist to keep your eyes on.

Your Nocturnal Wonderland set was phenomenal! What was your favorite drop?
Thank you! Probably one of my unreleased tracks – it’s always rewarding to hear a good reaction on those.

We know you’ve just moved to Los Angeles, How has that been for you?
Yes! It’s been amazing. The weather is always perfect and it’s been nice to finally be able to hang out with a lot of my friends in real life.
I know you’re a fan of all things spooky and macabre, what are your plans for Halloween?
I’m actually planning a few special things for the month of October. Stay tuned.. ?
When did you first get into the scene?
I slowly started dabbling in the dubstep scene in high school, but got really into dance music as a whole in college and would drag my friends to shows and festivals with me all the time.
What got you into Dubstep and raving?
I believe the first dubstep show I ever went to was Doctor P and Cookie Monsta, which pretty much got me hooked on the genre, but in terms of raving, my best friend took me to my first festival in 2013 (Electric Daisy Carnival NYC) and that literally changed my life.

What festival was your favorite to DJ at?

Nocturnal Wonderland was actually my first official festival set! It was really special – everything felt surreal the entire time I was on stage.
Who are your biggest musical inspirations outside of EDM?
Bring Me The Horizon and Nirvana.
In your opinion, who is the most unexpected DJ personality in real life?
Most artists I’ve met in real life are genuine, down to earth people, but it’s always refreshing when someone like Excision is even nicer than you would expect them to be.

Tell me more about your all-female bass collective GRL GANG!
GRL GANG is a collective and label I started in 2019 to help bring women in the industry together and give them the spotlight they deserve.
What label are you wanting to work with next?
I’d love to work with DeadbeatsNever Say Die and do more with Disciple.
What can we expect from JEANIE by the end of the year?
New music and more exciting things soon!
