IsGwan debuts on London based label Bad Parrot
Fusing his distinct UK Garage influences with a deeper, more melodic sensibility, one of the most exciting new artist in the scene IsGwan returns. Released under the London-based Bad Parrot label, the track is an exciting glimpse into IsGwan’s evolution as a producer. He explains he was “listening to a lot more melodic dance music such as Caribou, Dusky, Denham Audio and Fourtet and was keen to bring a bit more musicality into my tracks. Most of my tracks so far have been more club focussed which I love, but with this tune and the rest of the EP I tried to create tracks that hold up in the club while still being good to listen to no matter the context. I was also keen to try to break out of the typical ABAB (intro-drop-breakdown-drop) structure of dance music and have a bit more development of parts throughout. – IsGwan
Best of NAMM 2025
IsGwan pushes the boundaries of UKG, infusing his tracks with dynamic melodies and intricate structures. While still maintaining the pulse of the underground, he introduces a more atmospheric and musical approach to his sound.
The track builds on the foundation IsGwan has created since emerging in 2021, but this time, there’s an added depth to the groove. The syncopated rhythms typical of UK Garage are enriched with lush, flowing melodies that offer a balance between dancefloor energy and musicality. The complexity of the arrangement, which eschews the typical ABAB format, reflects a nod to classical structures, where recurring motifs evolve throughout the track. This sense of progression elevates the production, showcasing a forward-thinking vision within the realm of UK Garage.
With All That You Want, IsGwan confirms his ability to meld UKG’s raw energy with a refreshing, melodic twist that sets him apart from the pack.
