Today (April 17), NME has revealed the line-up for its upcoming unplugged Girls To The Front showcase in Singapore next month – find out more below.

First announced in early March, the Girls To The Front showcase is scheduled to take place on May 8 from 7PM SGT at the newly launched Swee Lee outlet at Clarke Quay during Branded’s CreatorWeek 2024. [Editor’s Note: NME Networks and Swee Lee are subsidiaries of Caldecott Music Group.]

Girls To The Front is an NME live music series that spotlights dynamic female and non-binary talent and celebrates diversity and inclusion within the music industry. This upcoming showcase, which is NME’s first-ever live show in Asia, will feature Singaporean DIY pop artist Shye, who won Best New Act from Asia at the BandLab NME Awards 2022, and rising singer-songwriter shazza. Joining them are chamber pop singer-songwriter rhyu and Singapore-based Indonesian alt-pop artist noui, who most recently released her sophomore EP ‘Border Room’ in January.

NME’s first live show in Asia has been a long time coming, and I couldn’t be more excited that it’s under the banner of Girls to the Front,” said Karen Gwee, NME Networks’ Managing Editor – Music, in a press statement. “noui, rhyu, shazza and Shye are some of the most exciting emerging pop artists in Singapore and I can’t wait for attendees to see this talented line-up in such a special setting.”

While admission to Girls To The Front’s Singapore debut is free and open to all, allocation is limited and entry will only be granted to those who have registered for a free ticket. Tickets are available exclusively via Swee Lee at https://nme-girls-to-the-front-swee-lee-2024.eventbrite.sg.

Girls To The Front falls during CreatorWeek 2024, which will highlight the 19th annual Music Matters and Music Matters Live. Typically held in September as part of Branded’s All That Matters conference, Music Matters and Music Matters Live will be held in Singapore twice this year – once for CreatorWeek in April and again during its regular All That Matters programming.
