If you’ve been interested in getting into cryptocurrency, but the amount research and work to find the right coins has been turning you f, what if I told you there’s a new coin available just for getting turned on?
Vice Industry Token Inc. is now fering VIT in exchange for engaging with adult entertainment. So if you’re already watching that kind content, why not get paid for it, right?
Well, as you might expect, it comes with a few catches. First f, VIT can apparently only be spent on content and services from the company and its partners. You’re also handing over a not-insignificant amount metadata by participating with the currency.
“This ability to capture authentic user engagement at the point interaction forms the basis the emerging ‘Attention Economy’, in what has come to be called ‘pro brain’ technology,” the company states in its report. They also said that entertainers can improve content they create for viewers by having access to more data points regarding preferences.
But Vice Industry Token CEO Stuart Duncan doesn’t think people will actually care about the blockchain aspect or what kind data is being collected anyway. “Consumers are earning a utility token by being on sites powered by Vice Token,” he told the Daily Beast. “They’re not going to care how the blockchain works, all they’re going to care about is getting a product for free and then the bonus getting something for it, getting paid.”
The porn industry is already so massive, it makes sense to create a way “passively” monetizing it and incentivizing users to use their services even longer and more frequently – not to mention, porn videos are notoriously low on engagement. People who comment on or, god forbid, share porn videos aren’t exactly looked on with the highest esteem.
Over a dozen companies have already joined as partners, including Penthouse. Stuart says the first websites accepting vice tokens will be online by July 1 or possibly earlier.
