Fresh Island Festival in Croatia had to be evacuated in the early hours of Tuesday (July 16) due to a forest fire close to the site.
The festival, located on Zrce Beach on the Island of Pag, posted on Facebook that the festival would be put on hold while people were safely taken away from the site.
"Due to the fire behind the far side of Zrce we have paused tonight’s performance under instruction from the police and fire service as a safety precaution. Security have escorted fans to the beach and parking behind Noa Club and will direct people to shuttle buses leaving from the top of Noa Club parking near the main road to take people to Novalja town.
"We advise everyone to please use the buses provided to get back to the town. The safety of everyone at the festival is our utmost priority and we appreciate everyone’s patience during this time."
Fresh Island posted another update detailing that buses were not being let through because the fire caused road closures, but later wrote police were escorting buses to take people back to Novella.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this point.
Tyga and Not3s were due to play at the festival, but their performances were cancelled.
