1. What inspired you to create this particular song?
I’m was mainly inspired by the latest organic and deep house musical movement. It’s fascinating me and really resonates with my current musical taste. In this track, I’m aiming to share my personal vision of what a tune in this style should evoke in the listeners’ ears and imagination, trying to give my interpretation of this mood. To be more precise, I just want it to take you on an emotional journey and a sense of time dilation, just like these genres do for me.
2. How does the instrumentation and production contribute to the song’s overall mood?
Music and technology have always been intertwined, just like in the early house music in the late ’80s. Nowadays, software and new tech hugely influence how music is made, allowing artists to push creative boundaries and create new captivating sounds. In this track in particular, the mood has been created by starting with the initial synth hook and creating all the additional melodies over it, adding layered synths with intricate percussion and dreamy vocals, creating an immersive and evocative experience.
3. How do you see this song fitting into the current musical landscape?
This song aligns perfectly with the current direction of my musical journey. As I seek inspiration, I’m particularly drawn to the new, organic, and melodic house, as well as the afro house, which captivates me. This track fits seamlessly into my current artistic vision. Moreover, I believe that when combined in a set, the aforementioned genres complement each other beautifully. Don’t you agree?
4. How does this song reflect your growth or evolution as an artist?
If I were to compare some of my earliest tracks with those created 10 years ago or even 5 years ago, you’d notice that despite the differences in genre, style, and instrumentation, there’s a consistent thread that connects them all. My primary goal has always been for each song to narrate a story to the listener. I humbly believe (and hope) that this tune achieves that. To directly address the question, the selection of sounds, their mixing, and the song’s structure are reflective of my ongoing desire to evolve as an artist. This involves introducing fresh ideas while also stripping away the superfluous, leaving only what’s essential. This process gets to the heart—the very soul—of the track.
5. Were there any specific musical influences or references that shaped the sound of this track?
Certainly, I must acknowledge that artists from Lee Burridge’s “All Day I Dream” label have been a significant source of inspiration for me. Noteworthy artists such as Tim Green, FullTone, Volen Sentir, Lost Desert, Sebastien Leger, and Amonita, among others, deserve a special mention. Beyond their productions, I’m endeavoring to infuse a similar vibe into my radio show. For more details, follow me on my social media platforms.
