Agoria has teamed up with younger Lebanese filmmaker Jessy Moussallem to launch a robust new movie for his newest single ‘Embrace’.
The new visible explores themes surrounding international millitarisation, with Jessy drawing on her experiences rising up in Lebanon to create a movie as poignant as it's private.
Discussing the visible a press launch Agoria explains, “There was no query for me – I solely wished Jessy to direct the video for ‘Embrace'. She is fabulous and the one [one] who may movie the fitting message of the track."
Adding, "Her skill to defend partaking subjects with poetry at all times blows my thoughts. It’s at all times extra difficult to ship optimistic messages than unfavourable or cynical ones. The video is exhibiting the coaching of troopers, of their intimacy, going through their ego, their doubts. Most of all – it questions our personal selections, our duplicity, the fears and the challenges of humanity.”
Meanwhile Jessy notes, “My uncle was killed on the age of 22, two days earlier than Christmas in December 1983, whereas combating for a militia throughout the civil conflict in Lebanon. Growing up and listening to tales about him and his comrades, I questioned the militarization of human variety; how these younger troopers are educated to kill, and on the similar time prepared to sacrifice their lives.”
Adding, “This movie explores notions of institutionalized ritual, masculinity, and sacrifice, the place human intimacy and the brutality of militarisation blur.”
