Booka Shade are set to release their latest album, For Real, on 21st March 2025 via Blaufield Music. The duo, known for shaping electronic music for over twenty-five years, have crafted an eleven-track project that blends past ideas with fresh sounds. Ahead of the full release, their new single Broken Glass gives a final preview of what’s coming.
A Deep Dive Into For Real
Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier have always had a way of pushing electronic music forward. From club anthems to GRAMMY-nominated productions, their career has been about innovation. Their twelfth studio album continues that journey, blending unreleased ideas with their signature melodic house and techno.
Booka Shade shared, “There has long been a plan to delve deep into our archive and search for those lost ideas that have accumulated over the years. At the beginning of 2024, it was finally time to tackle this project and to finalise some of these lost treasures. Now it‘s For Real.”
The album features a mix of previously released singles like P.I.N. 4, (Neon Lights) They Glow, Save Me, and Your Command, alongside fresh productions. The duo describe it as a return to a more organic and melodic approach, reminiscent of their EVE album.
What to Expect from the Album
The eleven-track collection takes listeners through layered soundscapes, weaving together intricate melodies, crisp production, and a deep sense of musicality. Tracks like Electric Birds carry a hazy groove, while Virtual Face delivers commanding energy. Pulsating rhythms mix with melancholic undertones, creating an album that’s both introspective and dancefloor-ready.
Ahead of the release, the final single Broken Glass sets the tone. The track merges sweeping leads, funk-infused bass, and captivating vocals, offering one last glimpse into For Real before the full drop.
The For Real Tour
Booka Shade will take their live show across Europe to mark the album’s release. The tour kicks off in Zurich on 11th March and runs through key cities like Munich, Frankfurt, and Vienna. Special album release parties will be held at Säälchen in Berlin on 22nd March and Earth Theatre in London on 28th March.
With For Real, Booka Shade continue to evolve while staying true to the elements that have defined their sound. The album is set to resonate with longtime fans and those just discovering their music.
