A Sudden Setback for Anyma at Coachella
In a disappointing turn of events for electronic music fans, the highly anticipated debut of Anyma's immersive project, ÆDEN, was canceled at Coachella due to severe weather conditions. As Friday’s forecast warned of strong winds, organizers and the artist’s team were forced to make the difficult decision to prioritize the safety of attendees and crew.
With wind gusts reportedly reaching 35 mph, the massive LED structures and intricate production elements required for the ÆDEN experience were deemed a significant physical hazard. The complexity of the setup, which requires specialized personnel to scale the production rig, made it impossible to proceed safely following the performance by Sabrina Carpenter.
Safety as the Priority
The decision was not taken lightly, as Anyma’s performance was one of the most anticipated sets of the entire weekend. As of now, it remains unclear whether the performance will be rescheduled for later in the weekend or if fans will have to wait until the second weekend of the festival to witness the spectacle. Following the conclusion of Sabrina Carpenter's set, a message was displayed on the screens to inform the crowd of the cancellation.
“Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform tonight. Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority”
A Message from the Artist
Anyma expressed his personal regret regarding the situation, emphasizing the immense effort put into the project over the past year. With an upcoming world tour for ÆDEN, Coachella was set to be the only major festival appearance for the project this season and its exclusive US showcase.
“I’m sorry everyone, We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now.”-Anyma
As the festival continues, fans remain hopeful that a solution will be found to bring the ÆDEN experience to the desert stage before the weekend concludes.
