Vital Events are back at it again with their yearly iteration of bass music paradise called Wobbleland. Founded in California, the event has seen massive lineups over the years, from last year's two day event featuring Rezz and Troyboi, to other big names like 12th Planet, Feed Me, and Herobust. This year however, they came to Denver and brought with them a killer lineup. With other festivals under their care such as Toxic Summer and Soulstice, they know how to throw a party and it showed.
The event opened up with a variety of openers – from the local Sub.mission crew holding down the fort with a variety of DJ's, to Zeke Beats and Pigeon Hole throwing down the hard beats. Stylust and Truth then took the stage for an epic B2B, giving the crowd a taste of their eclectic mix of hard bass, trap, and funky old school stylings. Coming off of two killer collabs with Flume, Eprom was of course another welcome treat. He provided his own blend of glitchy, robotic synths and sounds.
The night really got going when Minnesota took the stage. The lights got a little brighter, the sound a little louder, and his signature track “HiLow” took hold of the crowd. The vibes were on point and everyone was on the same page. Kill the Noise then crushed it as well. He threw out some old school tracks such as “Jump Ya Body,” and “Thumbs Up,” but of course leaned heavy into his new tracks like “Horizon,” and “Shake the Ground.” All around he threw a great show.
Rusko closed out the event and provided the most raw and authentic energy of the night. He was singing, dancing, and directing the crowd through an hours worth of dirty, wobbly basslines. Having been in the game since the early 2000's he had quite the backlog to go through and he didn't shy away from hitting everything. People were amped, and it was clear everyone was having an amazing time.
All and all, Wobbleland was a killer event, hosted by mainstay event organizers. The venue was a perfect choice with plenty of room to move, and the lineup was perfectly curated. There was even a live UV painter which I thought was a great touch. If you haven't been to a Vital event yet – consider making new life choices. They know how to throw a killer party and you won't want to miss the next one!
