We’ve been waiting for this moment literally for years, but these last couple weeks have been especially exciting. One after another, artists, managers, club owners and more have begun to confirm our deepest suspicions: Swedish House Mafia is reuniting for Ultra’s 20th anniversary.
Swedish House Mafia played their last show at Ultra in 2013. Five years later, and on the 20th anniversary one the biggest music festivals in the world, and certainly in dance music history, their return seems especially fitting.
The first day Ultra this year saw sets from Raiden, Kungs, Oliver Heldens, Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren, Hardwell, DJ Snake, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Carl Cox, Virtual Self, Rezz, Flosstradamus, Slushii, NGHTMRE & Slander and still more – you can listen to all those here.
On day two, fans watched Fedde Le Grand, Alan Walker, Jauz, Audien, Tiesto, Lost Kings, Afrojack, Marshmello, The Chainsmokers, and so many more throw down incredible sets. Listen to those here.
Today, fans saw the final day Ultra with one the weekend’s most diverse stream schedules, including drum and bass legend Andy C, live bass phenoms Modestep, a special performance by Above & Beyond at the A State Of Trance stage, a full hour KSHMR and Dash Berlin, as well as appearances by Eric Prydz, Nicky Romero, Kaskade, and more.
But the stream, and indeed the festival in general, has greatly felt like it was the calm before the storm. No major special guests were brought out, no one was really making any huge noise with their performances and we think it’s all because these three legends about to grace the main stage. Honestly, at this point, what can you do but wait it out and join on the fun.
Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, and Steve Angello are…
