With the news Pendulum’s new remix album unveiled, and the release date fast approaching (June 29), fans have been scouring the internet for clips the tracks – if in fact they’ve been played out. It didn’t take long before the clip below surfaced, showing Ekali during a recent show in Los Angeles playing out an unknown remix Pendulum’s “The Island, Pt 1” … as it turns out, we now know that remix belongs to Skrillex.
It’s not a far reach to believe that Ekali had the remix, since he’s also an OWSLA artist. As for the remix itself, if you were hoping for Skrillex-style dubstep, prepare to be disappointed. That being said, it’s still a high quality interpretation the classic track filled with anthemic synths and Rob’s singular vocals.
