A Return to Connection in Platanillo
The third annual Bliss Burn returned from March 19–23, 2026, to The Garden in Platanillo, Costa Rica. This intimate conscious campout prioritizes connection and co-creation over the spectacle of larger festivals. Nestled on 33 acres of lush mountain terrain along a flowing river, the venue creates a natural environment where paths cross and re-cross, fostering a sense of community that feels both deliberate and deeply organic.

The Philosophy of Cavalia Mágica
Unfolding under the theme Cavalia Mágica, the event functioned as a temporary override of the standard societal structures. Unlike the massive, transaction-heavy festivals that dominate the 2019 Festivals landscape, Bliss Burn operates on a smaller, more human scale. The co-creators emphasized a desire to dismantle the systems that dictate how we consume and disconnect, replacing them with a space where creativity and genuine interaction take precedence.

Sonic Landscapes and Artistic Expression
The musical programming was carefully curated to match the event's intentional atmosphere. Thursday night saw Honduran producer Shavalien open with a shamanic tribal set at the Bliss stage, while Apothecary delivered a handcrafted psy set at the Elev8 space. By Saturday, the energy reached a crescendo with performances from artists like Zach Walker, SWAYLÓ, and Sage Farris, alongside residents such as Nacho DJ, Flip, Segatto, and RahQuel Star.

Beyond the music, the art installations served as pillars of the experience. The sculpture “Held in Becoming” by Briana Hill and Armando Severiano stood as a testament to the power of community collaboration, while the Teatro del Cosmos art car provided a whimsical, interactive anchor along the riverbank.
Living the Pura Vida
While the logistical challenges of traveling to the site provided their own lessons, the essence of the weekend remained rooted in the local mantra: Pura Vida. It is a philosophy of accepting what is in front of you, finding joy in the present, and letting go of rigid expectations. As the event continues to evolve, Bliss Burn remains a vital space for those seeking a deeper, more intentional way to experience music and community.
