Joni Mitchell has shared her thoughts on the upcoming US Presidential elections and Donald Trump at her recent Joni Jam concert in Los Angeles – see what she had to say below.
On Saturday (October 19), Joni Mitchell performed her first headlining concert in Los Angeles in 24 years, dubbed the Joni Jam. While performing at the Hollywood Bowl, Mitchell performed the political track ‘Dog Eat Dog’ for the firs time since 1985.
After the song, a fan shouted an insult directed towards Donald Trump, per Billboard, promoting Mitchell to echo back: “Fuck Donald Trump”.
Mitchell continued: “Everybody get out and vote. This is an important one. I wish I could vote – I’m Canadian. I’m one of those lousy immigrants.”

Elsewhere during the performance, Mitchell performed a collection of songs that had not been played live in decades, including ‘Sunny Sunday’ and ‘God Must Be A Boogie Man’. She also gave several songs their live debuts, including ‘If I Had A Heart’ and ‘Harlem In Havana’.
Joni Mitchell last night performed a second night of her all-star Joni Jam show at the Hollywood Bowl. Across both nights, Mitchell’s band was made up of musicians such as Brandi Carlile, Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, Annie Lennox, Marcus Mumford, Jon Batiste, Jacob Collier and many more.
Over the weekend, Lizzo hit out at Donald Trump, who had recent said that the United States would “end up being like Detroit if she’s your president. You’re going to have a mess on your hands”. Lizzo fired back at Trump while attending Kamala Harris‘ rally: “You know, they say if Kamala wins, then the whole country will be like Detroit. OK. Proud like Detroit. Resilient like Detroit. We’re talking about the same Detroit that innovated the auto industry and the music industry. So put some respect on Detroit’s name.”
