James Corden reportedly entertained fellow passengers onboard a flight in Portugal after it was forced to carry out an emergency landing.

The actor was on a flight which reportedly failed to reach altitude as it was leaving Faro. The plane circled for 45 minutes before pilots announced that they would be making an emergency landing in Lisbon.

One passenger has shared detailed of the event, adding that the actor and comedian entertained the other passengers, posed for selfies, and even hinted at the newly revealed Gavin & Stacey episode coming on Christmas Day.

Speaking to Metro, the passenger, named Vanessa, said “He walked up and down the aisles talking to people, and let everybody take a selfie with him.”

She continued: “I made a joke and went, ‘Oh if we’re all going to die, you could tell us how the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special ends?’ and he went ‘Do you really want to know?’”

The former Late Late Show host then teased a resolution to the long-running joke of the mysterious fishing trip shared by Jason and Bryn, as Vanessa shared: “He said ‘I can’t tell you, but do you want to know what happened on the fishing trip?’ and I was like ‘Yes! I do!’ and he was like, ‘I can’t tell you that either.’”

She continued to speak on Corden’s demeanour, saying: “He was just really nice, he would have been well within his rights to sit and sulk in his seat like the rest of us would be doing but he didn’t.”

Vanessa then explained the context behind some photographs of Corden speaking with a staff member after passengers were forced to vacate the plane following its emergency landing.

“We’re in the terminal and there was not a member of British Airways staff to be found,” Vanessa claimed. “And they put us in immigration queues. And there was just no one there telling us what was going on.”

She then claimed that Corden defended families with young children who did not have “club flyer” status who were being held up in various queues.

“James was a club flyer and he stood there, and was like ‘What about all these people who’ve got all these kids with them?’ like saying that’s not acceptable, it’s not right,” shared Vanessa. She revealed how, while waiting for the next available flight to London, Corden “stood in the same queue as everybody else, doing the same things as everybody else did”.

Meanwhile, Gavin & Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones has called the initial leak of the Christmas special episode “really mean”.
