Ziyad Al-Samman – Exploring the realms of production possibility
Ziyad Al-Samman’s returns with a vibrant and captivating exploration of electronic soundscapes. The track immediately grabs attention with its swirling, almost piercing noise driven synth layers, before settling into a driving synth-led rhythm that propels the song forward. It’s impossible not to think of the indie dance legends such as LCD Soundsystem or MGMT when vibing to this one, the blend of indie groove and electronic music makes it an easy comparison to make. He explains that the track is “about being driven by love and madness. The chase and excitement of a new relationship. I remember trying to channel some David Bowie energy when I first wrote this and I love how direct this song is, it carries a great swag and attitude.”
Al-Samman’s vocals, layered with jittery, filtered effects, add a touch of surrealism to the infectious melody.
The production is a standout feature, showcasing Al-Samman’s ability to blend diverse electronic elements into a cohesive and danceable whole. The pulsating synths, coupled with the energetic rhythm section, create an irresistible groove that is a testament to Al-Samman’s unique artistic vision and his knack for crafting electronic-infused indie-pop anthems.
