You can now watch the trailer for a new biopic about Aretha Franklin.

Respect, which follows the life and career of Aretha, who was posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2019, will be released in UK cinemas in January 2021.

Jennifer Hudson (pictured) stars as Aretha in the flick, with other cast members including Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans and Mary J. Blige.

Respect is directed by Liesl Tommy (Jessica Jones, Insecure, The Walking Dead) and is written by Tracey Scott Wilson (The Americans, Do No Harm, Traitors).

The legendary soul singer, who passed away in August 2018, was also the focus of Amazing Grace, which saw her performing her album of the same name in 1972.
