GRAMMY-winning dance music superstar AFROJACK and DJ, producer, and co-founder of Deep Root Records Francis Mercier set a remarkable vibe. They performed at the iconic Zamna Tulum, doing a sunrise B2B set in the jungle this past Saturday, December 3.

Sunrise b2b in the jungle

The Zamna performance coincides with the 15th anniversary of AFROJACK’s platinum hit ‘Take Over Control.’ He brought together a global group of innovative producers to completely reimagine the track for today’s dance floors. The result is a remix EP that spans styles and scenes. Maddix delivers high-intensity techno, which he debuted at Tomorrowland Brazil. Matt Sassari brings dark rolling house grooves, and Kasango explores forward-thinking rhythms. HILLS offers a club-focused bass house interpretation, while Antonio Delveg brings a melodic and progressive touch. Lastly, BYNX offers his own house touch to the iconic track. Each remix celebrates the original’s timeless hook and transforms it into a fresh weapon for a new generation of stages.

It also comes on the heels of his collaboration with rising talent Amél on ‘Rivers.’ This cinematic, festival-ready electronic track features soaring melodic energy. It came out last month. ‘Rivers’ capped one of the biggest years in AFROJACK’s career. The year began when he made history alongside collaborators David Guetta and Sia. They performed their dance music anthem ‘Titanium’ live for the first time at Ultra Music Festival’s 25th anniversary. The Dutch superstar then made a major return to Coachella, headlining Heineken House. He brought it to capacity both weekends. In July, he united with Amél to bring together three of dance music’s most celebrated names – Martin Garrix, David Guetta, and himself – for their first-ever collaboration. Their high-energy EDM anthem “Our Time” has exploded in popularity and already earned over 20 million streams. Between these milestones, he has stayed busy on tour performing at the world’s most renowned festivals and clubs. These include Tomorrowland, Parookaville, Crazy, Sexy, Cool Festival, Ushuaia, and Cavo Paradiso.
