We can all pinpoint a time in our lives where we were ridding to the beach with the homies jamming out to “High You Are” and its impeccable production. Fast forward a few years… Bro hit the Coachella stage like a man possessed last year throwing down one the most memorable shows the weekend. When What So Not rolled out a giant chrome horse on monster truck wheels during his headlining set, it was his boldest reminder yet that he doesn’t play by the same rules as his peers. As 2017 drew to a close, a semi-quiet year on the production front for Emoh Instead, word started to expose about what 2018 was going to hold. And like an atomic bomb outstanding news, What So Not announced he would be delivering an album “Not All the Beautiful Things”, an album that would captivate the masses with his mesmerizing production and undeniable production mastery. Lucky for us, he has been giving us tastes what the album will look/sound like with the release a few tracks f the tape.
As much a creative leap as “Not All the Beautiful Things” represents as an album, What So Not promises it’s just the beginning what fans can expect from this exciting new phase his evolution, as the artist who’s already co-headlined with Baauer and A-Trak and headlined festival stages from Coachella to Pukkelpop to HARD Summer looks ahead to his 2018 touring schedule. “We’re creating this entire world that people can step into,” he says. And whether that world will still feature a giant chrome horse – well, fans, will just have to wait and see.
