The Chainsmokers have been gaining some serious momentum in 2018. After the latter half of 2017 was spent on the road for the duo, they have hit the ground running with a series of both critically and fan acclaimed singles. The guy's Ultra set back in March was hailed as a return to former glory by many fans, and excitement around The Chainsmokers hit a true fever pitch.

While they Drew and Alex have picked up their fair share of haters over the years due to their commercial success and exploration of the pop sound, they have been unapologetic about their productions. Time and time again The Chainsmokers have explored outside their comfort zone, and even when a single wasn't well received they pushed forward and continued to expand their range as producers.

Looking back on the guy's past couple of years of production the amount of different styles and genres they have released in is borderline unbelievable. Today they have put out a 5 track EP. While four of the records on the extended play have been released as singles, there is one new tune. ‘Side Effects' features vocals from Emily Warren, and is a funky house infused romp that is ripe for radio spins. It seems that The Chainsmokers have found a stellar middle ground between pop hits and house arrangements. ‘Side Effects' follows the trend of radio-friendly house music that records like Calvin Harris' ‘One Kiss' helped pioneer in 2018.

In my opinion ‘Side Effects' is a culmination of a lot of exploration, and I have no doubt that this tune will be a bonafide hit. Check out the new single, as well as the full EP below.
