Kicking off the best of July 2024 is ANNA’s remix of the ’98 trance anthem, “Pulverturm.” A very tasteful update that represents the sound of today which seems to be a hybrid of all genres that exceed 130 BPM spanning multiple eras that go all the way back to the very early ’90s. Drumcode and Second State are well represented here also. Not to mention, Exhale’s VA005 is here and the chart rounds out with four of my favorites from the high-bpm compilation. Turn it up and play them loud.

Follow the best Spotify playlist:

1. “PULVERTURM (ANNA REWORK)” – NIELS VAN GOGH [ÉPOQUE]

“In 2023, while preparing for my Tomorrowland set, I was exploring iconic tracks that resonated in Belgium and could be perfect for an edit. I chose ‘Pulverturm’ for its powerful vocals and strong melody”, says ANNA. “What started as a quick edit turned into a labour of love, and I was so happy with the outcome that I wanted to try to release it as an official rework. We were in conversation with Niels Van Gogh when I sent the track to Charlotte de Witte, who loved it. She introduced me to Époque, and we decided to release the rework together. It’s been a year since I crafted this rework, and I’ve never had so many artists from various genres, Techno, House, Melodic Techno, Tech House, Hard Techno, requesting a track like they did with my rework of ‘Pulverturm.’ It’s incredibly exciting to finally share it with the world!” – ANNA

2. “SIMULATOR (MHA IRI REMIX) – ADAM BEYER & GREEN VELVET [DRUMCODE]

Odd Mob’s remix of the 2023 banger by Green Velvet and the Drumcode boss is getting a large share of the attention but Mha Iri‘s version is much larger if you ask me.

3. “SOMETHING MORE (JORIS VOORN REMIX) – BART SKILS & WESKA [DRUMCODE]

If you’ve been an avid listener of the Drumcode podcast in 2024, you should be very familiar with this outstanding Joris Voorn remix that retains all of the euphoria while cooling it down for the progressive audience.

4. “SHADOWPRINT (DOK & MARTIN REMIX)” – BART SKILS [DRUMCODE]

On the flip-side of “Something More” sits this other massive remix that’s just as deserving of a spotlight half-way through 2024. Turn it up.

5. “CORE (OBSCURE SHAPE PEAK REMIX)” – PAN-POT [SECOND STATE AUDIO]

Forward-thinking, yet just as large as any other big tune out at the moment, Obscure Shape’s remix is a fantastic exercise on how to make something for the masses while maintaining a perfect amount of edge.

6. “QUEEN” – AD7USTMENT [ARTCORE RECORDS]

The second volume of ARTCORE‘s Off Sonar compilation doesn’t get faster and fiercer than this peak-time madness from German producer, AD7USTMENT.

7. “GIVE IT UP” – ADAM BEYER & THE GOOD MEN [ARMADA MUSIC]

“There’s no denying the major impact ‘Give It Up’ has had globally. So giving this old house classic a fresh techno flavor for 2024 is an honor and it has been going down a storm every time I have played it so far” – Adam Beyer

8. “BODIES” – CANCEL X REBEKAH [ELEMENTS RECORDS]

After sharing a special back-to-back three hour set earlier this year in Berlin, Rebekah and Cancel got in the studio together and created this fantastic hardcore techno they call “Bodies.”

9. “CONCORDE” – DEAS [DYNAMIC REFLECTION]

Techno expert, Deas kicks off the Dynamic Reflection imprint with a handful of innovative bangers. Including this proper hypnotic effort he calls, “Concorde.”

10. “HYPERACTIVE” – ARDL [EXHALE]

Young French producer, ARDL makes his debut on Exhale with this hard trance jackhammer appropriately titled, “Hyperactive.”

11. “SLINGSHOT” – AFEM SYKO [EXHALE]

Afem Syko’s work on the synthesizer is a phenomenal contribution to VA005.

12. “ARC (PAS RUMBLE JUNGLE REMIX)” – PAN-POT [SECOND STATE AUDIO]

With his Planetary Assault Systems alias, Luke Slater works his magic on Pan-Pot’s “ARC” which you can find on the third edition of their album remix package.

13. “RACING CARS” – FLUG FEAT. LIZ MCFARLAND [ARTCORE RECORDS]

The second techno highlight on Indira Paganottao‘s compilation is the gritty effort by Spanish producer, Flug.

14. “EXTAZY” – SWART [EXHALE]

After appearing on Exhale‘s VA003 a couple of years ago, Belgian producer, SWART is on VA005 with this hazy banger that belongs in your playlist.

15. “1999″ – AARON HIBELL [EXHALE]

Aaron Hibell’s “1999” is being called the grooviest of all 14 bangers on VA005.
