The 15 Best House Tracks of May 2024

Nearly halfway through the year and we have ourselves a chart that flies below the radar. The superstar collaboration between Hot Since 82 and Ron Carroll on Defected is a definite highlight and so is &ME’s remix of “Only You” by UNKLE but some other artists bubbling up have garnered just as much as attention this month. Including, the cream of the crop on Cinthie’s 803 imprint which you may have caught on Mau P’s recent Essential Mix.

1. “FLOOR CALL” – D STONE & MILION [803 CRYSTAL GROOVES COLLECTIVE CUTS]

Featured on Mau P’s recent Essential Mix, this mid ’90s style cut can be found be found on the sixth edition of 803 Crystal Grooves Collective Cuts.

2. “STILL AWAKE” – DJ ROCCA & MIKE RIVIERA [FORTUNEA]

Italian producers, DJ Rocca and Mike Riviera supplied forTunea with a four-track collection that’s traditional in a deep house sense, yet distinct for the attention paid to the bass-line.

3. “GIVE ME FEELS (SAAND REMIX)” – BOSA x ERIC SHARP x MONSTER LUNA [TIERRA SOUNDS]

This three-way, Angeleno collaboration on Tierra Sounds is loaded with remixes including this silky-smooth one by the label-boss himself, SAAND!

4. “DISTANT MEMORIES” – HERNAN CATTANEO, HICKY & KALO [WATERGATE RECORDS]

Progressive house legend, Hernan Cattaneo returns to Watergate with the production pair, HIcky & Kalo and the resulting effort is this astounding beauty they call “Distant Memories.”

5. “ONLY YOU (&ME REMIX)” – UNKLE [VOD]

UNKLE’s most recent 2019 LP which James Lavelle describes as a mixtape featured, “Only You” which gets a highly in demand Keinemusik remix courtesy of &ME. The emotions run high on this one. Enjoy.

6. “RADIANCE” – BASIC INSTINCT [SOUS MUSIC]

Deep, dub house at its finest right here from Berlin’s Basic Instinct on Sous Music.

7. “PREACH” – HOT SINCE 82 + RON CARROLL [DEFECTED]

As part of their quart century celebration, Defected brought Hot Since 82 & Ron Carroll together for this uplifting slice of house music magic the belong in you peak-time playlist.

8. “ONLY” – MADBEN & KOSME [MOBILEE RECORDS]

“Only” by Madben & Kosme on Mobilee is a somewhat raucous affair until the latter half when the synth drops out and the organ takes control. Choice stuff right here.

9. “OUTTA THE BOX” – IDEMI [HOTTRAX]

“Outta The Box EP is the beginning of us showcasing our sound – club records inspired by the underground house music that defined the 90s. 10. “MEK MI DANCE” – ANDY SHERMAN [D’EAUPE]

Shermanology‘s Andy Sherman is full of pleasant surprises and his latest two-tracker on his D’Aupe imprint is a dual weapon that includes this heavy hitter that every DJ should have in their library.

11. “RUN” – MAZ & ANTDOT [CERCLE RECORDS]

Brazilian producer, Maz is on an absolute tear with one hit after another and this latest with Antdot is his third house chart appearance in the last three months. Can’t wait to hear what he has in store for the rest of the year.

12. “BUM BUM” – ALDO CADIZ, KI CREIGHTON [SNATCH! RECORDS]

Aldo Cadiz and Ki Creighton unite on Snatch! for a two-track affair that features this wonky, filter business they’ve titled, “Bum Bum.”

13. “NEXT TO YOU” – DEMARKUS LEWIS [SPACEDISCO RECORDS]

Back in the day, Demarkus Lewis was the go-to artist for top-tier, deep house and here is on Spacedisco still doing his thing decades laters with some filtered disco.

14. “PICK UP” – NICKELSON [WHISKEY PICKLE]

Nickelson’s “Pick Up” can be found on his Children Of Saturn EP along with other cosmic funk that lends its allegiance to Italo-disco of yesteryear.
