Welcome back to the ninth iteration of this monthly chart, where we highlight and break down the top 15 bass music anthems. September’s selection encompasses a ton of headliners that just popped off at Lost Lands, including Dirt Monkey, Ganja White Night, and Levity, to name a few.

However, we also have brain-melting representation from fast-rising underground artists such as Meduso, Steller, and Capochino, reflecting experimental bass, wubs, dubstep, heavy bass house, trap, riddim, and everything in between. Enter the realm of sonic experimentation as we shed light on various bass-powered anthems and their creators.

Follow our Spotify playlist below to keep tabs on all the tracks we have featured (currently at 135 bangers) in our bass music chart this year:

Capochino, BuckTen – Concentrate [MorFlo Records]

Kicking off September’s picks is rising bass superstar Capochino, teaming up with BuckTen on “Concentrate.” Released on Mersiv’s label, MorFlo Records, this track showcases Capochino’s unique sound design. It is a hypnotic fusion of experimental bass and trap, glued together by intense buildups, plucks, and low-end wubs.

TroyBoi, Scrufizzer – Keep It Moving [T Dot Music]

The king of trap is back and this time TroyBoi has joined forces with renowned vocalist Scrufizzer for an infectious blend of wobbly beats and flares of hip-hop. Scrufizzer’s distinct voice has been a staple across bass music and UK bassline anthems, from “One Three Nine” to “Skank N Flex.” His voice is a perfect match for TroyBoi’s thicc and heavy production across “Keep It Moving.”

Rezz, Virtual Riot, One True God – Give in to you [Monstercat]

Another incredible collaboration, bass queen Rezz unites with the legendary Virtual Riot and veteran DJ-producer One True God on “Give in to you.” This track is equally dark and gripping, powered by autotuned vocals and a droning synth that creates anticipation and suspense. Resonating bass drums are layered in before a grimy wave of insect-like dubstep rounds out the song.

TVBOO, Muck Sticky – Game Time [WAKAAN]

On Friday the 13th, beloved bass artist and comedic personality TVBOO dropped his not-so-scary but wub-packed album, Daisy Dukes & Cowboy Boots. This 13-track adventure mixes the wild west with funky bass music, featuring a wide spectrum of fellow producers within the genre and household vocalists like PrbCause. Artists such as Big Gigantic, INZO, Smoakland, LSDREAM, and CloZee all have collaborations in this LP. “Game Time” with Muck Sticky is a standout for its fun, carefree vibe, which is suddenly showered in high-energy wubs.

Steller, AG – Digital Delusion [Wubaholics]

“Digital Delusion,” the latest collaboration between Steller and AG, immerses listeners in a psychedelic journey from the start with its echoing instrumental. The track intensifies with powerful vocals and heavy percussion, building up to a drop filled with emphatic wubs. With its hypnotic energy, “Digital Delusion” is crafted to captivate both festival crowds and underground rave scenes, leaving listeners in a state of sonic euphoria while challenging their sense of reality.

LOST IN THE MUSIC – DRINKURWATER

The second track from DRINKURWATER’s massive debut album, RIPPLE, “LOST IN THE MUSIC,” integrates future bass, high-pitched lyrics, and concludes with a finale of spine-tingling wubs before echoing out seamlessly. The LP as a whole incorporates a diverse fusion of genres along with DRINKURWATER’s signature style of production, making for an electrifying journey through bass music.

Meduso – Hiraeth [Perplex Studios]

With “Hiraeth,” Meduso delivers a mesmerizing blend of trance-inducing bass, haunting vocals, and heavy guitar riffs, creating a deeply immersive sonic experience. This track explores themes of longing and melancholy, taking listeners on an adventure through innovative sound design and atmospheric layers. Originally written over two years ago, it has evolved in both structure and personal meaning, embodying the Welsh concept of “Hiraeth,” a yearning for a place that no longer exists or never was.

Dirt Monkey – LIGHTYEARS [19K]

Dirt Monkey clearly hasn’t lost his touch, recently dropping “LIGHTYEARS,” a track that embraces his OG sound with open arms. But it is not the vintage Dirt Monkey sound alone that carries this heater into our September chart. One driving component is that he pulls an irresistible vocal from classic anthem “Tom’s Diner” from Suzanne Vega. “LIGHTYEARS” welds this together with wubs and trap-based sound design.

ATLiens, GG Magree – Black Sheep [Monstercat]

Instantly seeing these names on a collaboration, I knew it was going to be a lethal combo. GG Magree’s intoxicating voice is optimized to mesh with ATLiens dark, underground sound design. Doing an amazing job of building suspense and energy, “Black Sheep” begins with an eerie wind and droning synth that feels like you are trapped in murky bass-fueled waters. On the drop, GG and ATLiens thrown down a barrage of spellbinding lyrics and heavy riddim chops.

longstoryshort – In My Mind [NIGHTMODE]

Longstoryshort dives into the depths of his creative mind with the bass house track “In My Mind,” delivering a high-energy anthem built for the dancefloor. The track opens with looped vocal echoes, gradually layering crisp snares and intricately crafted synths to create an entrancing sonic atmosphere. As the buildup intensifies, a powerful wave of bass house hits, driven by a relentless bassline. In My Mind” is primed for warehouse raves, festival stages, and party scenes alike, keeping listeners hooked from start to finish with its dynamic energy.

Taiki Nulight, P Money, Jolie P – Stay In Your Lane [A Chaos / Polydor Records]

A deadly mix of trap, hip-hop, and bass house, “Stay In Your Lane” is a heater that can be expected to chart not only UK charts but global bass charts. The rhymes from P Money and Jolie P are insanely well written and laid out audibly. Layered over a high-energy fusion of crisp snares and aggressive soundscapes, this banger is guaranteed to pop off at the club and house parties.

Ganja White Night, Tape B – Ganja Tape [SubCarbon]

In one of the year’s most highly anticipated collaborations, Ganja White Night teamed up with rising star Tape B to drop their bass-heavy anthem, “Ganja Tape.” The track perfectly fuses Ganja White Night’s signature wobble sound with Tape B’s impeccable sound design.

The now-iconic pre-drop vocal, “Yo Tape B! Yes, Ganja,” has quickly captured the attention of dubstep fans, adding to the excitement surrounding this release. With both artists set to feature the track throughout their upcoming tour stops, “Ganja Tape” is primed to become a serious contender for the top bass music track of 2024.

Levity – Ignition [Deadbeats]

Levity, the fastest-rising trio in the bass music scene, is back with their monumental seven-track EP, Escapism Vol. 1, on Zeds Dead’s renowned Deadbeats label. Known for their boundary-pushing sound, this EP is packed with a truly immersive bass experience, capturing the essence of Levity’s rapid ascent in the genre. Tracks like “Ignition” feature thunderous bass stabs and adrenaline-fueled drops that keep listeners on the edge, building anticipation for what’s to come from this promising group.

NITTI – Numb [ALT / RAVE]

NITTI brings us an electrifying cover of Linkin Park’s iconic track, “Numb,” paying tribute to Chester Bennington’s legacy. This cover has gained significant traction across social media, with its predeceasing remix amassing millions of views on Instagram and TikTok. Collaborating with rising vocalist Dakota, known for his striking renditions of Linkin Park songs, NITTI infuses his signature bass house style into the beloved anthem. This release not only honors Chester but breathes fresh energy into the track, coinciding perfectly with Linkin Park’s return to the spotlight as they embark on their latest tour.
