Welcome back to the tenth iteration of this monthly chart, where we highlight and break down the top 15 bass music anthems. October’s selection encompasses a ton of headliners that just popped off at Lost Lands, including Kompany, Rezz, and ALLEYCVT, to name a few.

However, we also have brain-melting representation from fast-rising underground artists such as EKLYPSE, Skysia, and Saturna, reflecting experimental bass, wubs, dubstep, heavy bass house, trap, riddim, and everything in between. Enter the realm of sonic experimentation as we shed light on various bass-powered anthems and their creators.

Follow our Spotify playlist below to keep tabs on all the tracks we have featured (currently at 150 bangers) in our bass music chart this year:

ALLEYCVT – STRATOSPHERE [SUPERSONIC RECORDS]

ALLEYCVT has been absolutely on fire this year, delivering bass-fueled hits and launching her own nation-wide debut tour. Adding to her long-list of recent successes, “STRATOSPHERE” is an infectious banger that takes listeners on a journey through outer space. A talented singer on top of her production skill set, ALLEYCVT’s vocals are a perfect complement to the space-inspired sound design of this track.

CØNTRA, Saturna – What I Can Do [The Gradient Perspective Records]

CØNTRA and Saturna are what you would refer to as bass wizards. These visionaries have catalogs that are powered by pure experimentation, often pushing the boundaries of bass music with their sound design. “What Can I Do” is a melting pot of trap and low-end bass, tying in hypnotic vocals. It is a double-single release with “Evoke” which is also a must-listen if you are digging this style of experimental bass music.

HURTBOX, Aweminus – RUN DAT AGAIN

For those in search of heavy riddim banger, you have come to the right place. HURTBOX and Awesminus’s “RUN DAT AGAIN” is simple yet highly effective, shaping up to be one of the top riddim anthems of 2024. The vocal hook is only a few words, but it is extremely fitting for the overall nature of the track. This is a great tune to throw on when going for a new PR at the gym or hitting a rage room.

John Summit, Sub Focus, Julia Church – Go Back (YDG Remix) [Experts Only/Darkroom Records]

Like ALLEYCVT, YDG has made a massive climb this year to the top of the bass music scene. With similarities to Tape B despite embodied his own irresistible unique style of production, YDG’s wubs will hit you like none other on the planet. He has been popping off on SoundCloud for remixes of Arctic Monkeys, Artemas, and Disclosure. Now he blesses with us this official remix of John Summit and Julia Church’s “Go Back,” delivering a wave of grimy wubs.

VLCN – Brotha Eww [Galactic Recordings]

Another aggressive banger to add to your headbang playlist, VLCN’s “Brotha Eww” uses the famous meme that has gone viral across social media this year. Everyone knows the phrase when they see it, and can hear the voice playing on repeat in their head. What most don’t know is that they need to strap in and hold on tight if they are going to survive the barrage of riddim chops and ground-shaking dubstep from VLCN in this track.

Mport – Level 9 (Concentrates Remix)

Also, referencing on memes and viral videos, Mport is known for dropping innovative and humorous tracks that make bass music simultaneously fun and highly danceable. Concentrates flips his tune “Level 9” into a nasty fusion of drum & bass, trap, UKG, and more in this lethal remix. The trippy vocals bring everything together harmoniously.

Bemah, AG – Streets

Both rising underground producer-DJ hybrids, Bemah and AG are experts at their craft. “Streets” is heavy and unforgiving, primed for warehouse raves and getting wild at the afterparty. The build-ups really crank the energy before the pair descends us into a pit of electrifying, gritty dubstep. My favorite part has to be the hip-hop based vocal lead, since it matches up optimally with the instrumental.

Kompany, IVORY, Raxdflipnote – Jackpot

Kompany, IVORY, and Raxflipnote’s “Jackpot” represents the future of bass music. This song was a major highlight from the sold-out Lost Lands 2024 festival, especially after CRANKDAT played it out for a crowd in the tens of thousands. The visual component features a slot machine being pulled, then on the drop, the machine becomes weaponized (with arms and legs), reaping havoc across a casino. This collaboration is nothing short of iconic, as Kompany and IVORY team up with Raxdflipnote, who is a digital creator of meme-based original stick figure content with a ginormous cult-like following.

Rezz, X1-Y2 – ZERO [HypnoVizion Records]

Rezz is at it again. Growing hype for her hauntingly good performance at Miami’s III Points a few weeks back, the bass queen dropped her four-track EP, NOVUS, alongside X1-Y2, right before it. NOVUS is as spellbinding and terrifying as you would expect any Rezz project to be. It is a one-way ticket to a nightmare that you will refuse to wake up from, with “ZERO” being the standout track.

EKLYPSE – Dark Matter

Based in the energetic landscape of San Diego, EKLYPSE is making waves in bass music with his powerful sound and immersive storytelling. A graduate of the esteemed Icon Collective, he brings a mastery of production techniques that elevates his vision into a fully realized experience. With each release, EKLYPSE blends the hard-hitting impact of dubstep and riddim with dark, atmospheric undertones, crafting more than just tracks—each project is a narrative journey that draws listeners into his distinct sonic world. “Dark Matter” fits this narrative, and will make you want to keep your eye on this blossoming bass artist.

Steller – FUNKSTEP! [Bassrush Records]

Steller recently dropped her new EP, FUNKSTEP! on Bassrush, and it is exactly the kind of genre-mash we didn’t know we needed. Known for blending heavy bass with funky, feel-good vibes, she has taken things up a notch here, fusing funk’s groove with dubstep’s punch. Both tracks on FUNKSTEP! shows off her production skills and knack for crossing genres, making it a fresh addition to her discography. The title track alone, “FUNKSTEP!,” hits hard with that perfect mix of funk and bass, and it has got “instant playlist add” written all over it. It is paired with “Here We Go.”

Orenda, Skysia – Boundless [Odyzey Music]

From Orenda’s four-track Shifting Sands EP, “Boundless” is a match made in heaven when it comes to producers riffing off their signature sounds. Teaming up with Skysia on the track, Orenda and him explore open the doors to new sonic worlds with this masterpiece, hence the song’s title. It has beautiful piano melodies, wind chimes, dreamy synths, and a surplus of flawlessly constructed wubs.

Shöckface – I WILL SURVIVE

Continuing this chart’s trend of pushing boundaries, Shöckface’s “I WILL SURVIVE” is a needle in a haystack, melting together trap, low-end bass, and infectious auto-tuned lyrics. It is gripping and emotional, but versatile in the sense that you could vibe to it on the dancefloor. My only complaint here is that the two minutes and 20 seconds isn’t long enough; the track leaves me wanting more.

Sully, PEEKABOO – Ear Candy [WAKAAN]

Sully and PEEKABOO’s latest track, “Ear Candy,” is exactly in line with its title. This deep dubstep banger, released via WAKAAN, pairs gritty bass drops with haunting Middle Eastern-inspired vocal chants, adding an extra layer of intensity to the track. Known for its powerful, dark sound, “Ear Candy” has been a crowd favorite in both artists’ sets throughout 2024. The track’s seamless fusion of ominous basslines and cinematic atmosphere creates an immersive, spine-tingling experience.

Don Jamal, Rakjay – My Ones [Wubaholics]

Closing out October’s top bass tracks, Jordanian bass producer Don Jamal drops his debut Wubaholics single, “My Ones,” from his upcoming EP on the label. Already a standout during spring festival season, the track has gained backing from bass heavyweights like Barclay Crenshaw and Ternion Sound. Featuring a captivating topline from UK rapper Rakjay, “My Ones” has been in high demand since festival season kicked off, thanks to its addictive wub motif and bass-heavy, groove-driven rhythms.
