“I think everyone was pretty worried, honestly,” Wolfhard told TIME. “The way that Game of Thrones got torn to shreds in that final season, we’re all walking into this going, ‘We hope to not have that kind of thing happen.’”
“But then we read the scripts. We knew that it was something special.”

Various other cast members have given their thoughts on the series ending since it first started filming in November 2015. David Harbour has professed he was glad the series is ending, while Caleb McLaughlin said he felt “blessed” to be part of it. Late last year, Millie Bobby Brown was filmed breaking down as she read her goodbye letter to the cast and crew.
While speaking to NME in an interview last April, Wolfhard he said that leaving Stranger Things “feels like a weird graduation in my life”, adding that while it was “nerve-wracking”, he wanted to celebrate it.
So far, the series’ trailer has teased a showdown between the town of Hawkins and the evil Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), with Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) grieving Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), who has died with the town believing him to be a murderer. The trailer also gave us our first look at new character Dr. Kay, who will be played by sci-fi legend Linda Hamilton.
In a new interview with show creators The Duffer Brothers, they’ve now revealed that the mysterious ‘Upside Down’ will be explained to viewers. Within the show, the ‘Upside Down’ exists an alternative world where creatures and nefarious forces exist.
Elsewhere in the interview, the brothers confirmed that there will be an 18-month time jump from the fourth season’s finale to the first episode of season five. All the characters will be back in Hawkins, living under military quarantine. Additionally, Variety further confirmed that the finale will run at “around two hours”.
The first chapter of Stranger Things‘ fifth season will arrive on November 27 at 1am GMT, while the second part will drop at 1am on December 26. Its finale will then air on New Year’s Day in the UK. You can find out everything else you need to know about the show here.
