Glasgow imprint Soma Records has announced the first round of names that will be joining them for Soma Skool 2020.

Soma Skool is Scotland’s biggest electronic music conference and showcase event. It will be back for its third year at Glasgow’s SWG3 complex from 1-5.30pm on March 28.

Intended as an educational event, Soma Skool brings big industry names together to deliver panels, workshops and equipment demonstrations in a day designed to inspire the next generation of electronic music makers.

This year will see Dr Rubinstein, Jensen Interceptor, Setaoc Mass and Soma Records label heads Slam congregate for the main artist panel. There will also be a talk on mental health in dance music, curated by Clubber 2 Clubber and featuring Darren McGarvey aka Loki; Psyche Publication editor Juliette Fitzgerald Duffy; Aisha Mirza, founder of London’s sober party Misery; and Crew 2000, a Glasgow-based harm reduction charity.

There will also be a discussion on the magic and challenges of Glasgow’s underground clubbing scene, chaired by Nadia Lounes, club editor at The Skinny. She will be joined by Nightwave, Clouds, DJ Nova Scotia and Taahliah.

As well as this, there will also be panels on events management, music journalism, and PR and marketing.

After the jam-packed day for your mind, there will be a whopping 7-hour dance for your soul. Slam’s infamous Maximum Pressure party will take over the space for its Spring Edition at 8pm and will see Jeff Mills headlining. Support comes from Dr Rubinstein, Miss Djax, Volvox, IDA, AISHA and Kai.
