Giphy is out the picture when it comes to Snapchat and Instagram integration, because an incredibly racist GIF suggestion…

The fensive picture popped up under search results for the word “crime,” blatantly using the n-word — but the monkey imagery in the screenshot below is just as bad if not worse.

It’s crazy Giphy let this somehow get by. It wasn’t until the social platforms were made aware the fensive GIF that it got taken down.

Snapchat revealed to TechCrunch:

“As soon as we were made aware, we removed the GIF and have disabled Giphy until we can be sure that this won’t happen again.”

Instagram said:

“This type content has no place on Instagram. We have stopped our integration with Giphy as they investigate the issue.”

A spokesperson for Giphy eventually commented:

“After investigation the incident, this sticker was available due to a bug in our content moderation filters specifically affecting GIF stickers. We have fixed the bug and have re-moderated all the GIF stickers in our library. ”

Look below, if you want to be totally disgusted…
