Denver’s very own Skysia has had a massive year so far, most recently making his Red Rocks debut supporting LsZee. After releasing his critically acclaimed ‘Overture‘ EP earlier this year, he had his mind set on providing an alternate experience for his fans by tapping some of his favorite producers to provide remixes.
Skysia shares, “I handpicked some of my favorite producers to finish off the ‘Overture’ story. 7 incredible remixes that expand on the original so beautifully. Each track flowing perfectly into the next. The remix album is full of diverse soundscapes and new yet familiar worlds. So happy with how this one turned out. Each track stands strong on its own yet, they all work together to tell a bigger story.”
He even offered a vinyl for his fans – which can be pre-ordered here. Some of our favorites include Dêtre’s haunting yet high-energy rework of “Emerald Bay,” setting an atmospheric and transportive tone. He recently broke down how he made the remix with us here.
Seeker’s shimmering, emotive take on “Aperture,” feels reminiscent of ODESZA’s melodic warmth. Milano’s remix of “Falling” turns up the intensity with its robust low-end and wobbly basslines, while EarthWave’s reimagining of “Aperture” balances soulful horns, hip-hop-inspired rhythms, and ethereal melodies for a grounded yet otherworldly feel. Closing the EP, Murkury transforms “Aperture” with a drum and bass twist, delivering captivating rhythms and an ethereal, cloud-like drop.
