British electronic duo has canceled their forthcoming US tour in light Jas Shaw’s amyloidosis diagnosis.
“AL amyloidosis is a rare disease caused by abnormal deposition and accumulation proteins in the tissues the body,” Simian Mobile Disco’s ficial statement reads. According to posts on both Facebook and Shaw’s personal Twitter , the artist’s already started chemotherapy treatment.
The news the tour cancellations comes on the heels the duo’s fifth LP announcement, Murmurations, which will still be released May 11 Wichita records.
The group’s Murmurations Barbican Centre show on April 4 in London will proceed as planned and they’ll re-evaluate their touring stance once Shaw completes his treatment. Prits from the London show will be donated to the .
