Something wicked this way comes… Not only is that a dark fantasy novel by Ray Bradbury, it rings true for the even darker song The Blood that was just released by Seven Lions and Kill The Noise on Ophelia Records. This track was forged from the love of the game Bloodborne (of the Souls series) that both Seven Lions and Kill The Noise share. I am sure the two birthed the track while on the Horizon tour which featured Seven Lions, Tritonal, and Kill the Noise. Kill The Noise has also been at both Chronicles events, Chapter I and II, presented by Seven Lions.

Blood is a historic track in that it is a Psytrance/Dubstep hybrid. Sure Seven Lions has made a name for himself as a master of blending dub and trance, however, mixing it with psytrance is downright innovative. Add the production knowledge of Kill The Noise and you get something that is next level which will for sure be copied in the future. The track begins with a rolling snare as you hear what could be interpreted as drops of blood falling into buckets below. The fast pace builds anticipation much like when you play the game Bloodborne. The first drop is a ghost drop that never hits but you are left with rolling psytrance kicks that carry you along. A theatrical build set up the actual first drop which comes with vim and vigor just after the vocals call out “Now shut your eyes.” Chaos ensues as an explosion of sound rips through the drop. Dubstep chops behind high pitch squeals this is not for the faint of heart. This song is an emotional rollercoaster that closes out over more upbeat psy triplets. This version is slightly different than the ones fans have been salivating over after hearing the track live, it goes harder. Listen for yorself below.
