Loving the retro, 1980's inspired vibe on this one. That along with a major James Blake influence takes Sacred Animals' “Maya Liminal” into just the sonic space I was in the mood to listen to right now. Returning from an extended hiatus locked in the studio, producer Darragh Nolan returns on the scene with new music out of a new moniker. Taking cues from artists like Son Lux, Ry X & Chromatics, ‘Maya Liminal’ is an intense, often claustrophobic listen. The track’s mood both explores & mirrors the lyrical content, in a slow building dream-state build that is a slow and steady burn. Watch the music video for Sacred Animals' “Maya Liminal” below now and stay tuned for his upcoming LP Odin's Wain due out by the end of the summer.
“The music comes from this place of revelation, of having an understanding of why we’re here for a glimpse, then it’s gone again. It’s about asking ourselves deep down what we really want & not being afraid to ask for it.” –
