We’ve had an eye on New York City-based producer rshand for quite a while now. He’s been putting in the work for years and made our list of artists to watch in 2025. He’s been releasing high-quality melodic house music at a torrid pace for a few years, and has recently found a great home label in Monstercat Silk.
It appears that his next chapter has arrived: rshand’s newest track, “Adore,” is the first single from his upcoming debut artist album, set to be released later this year on Monstercat Silk.
“Adore” follows a hot string of releases from the producer, including “Cycles” with Lewyn, a deep house thinker that received support on Apple’s editorial playlists, “Patience,” which made the rotation at SiriusXM chill, and the four-track “Overthinking” EP.
“Adore” features an infectious lead pluck line, organic hand drums, light piano harmonies, and the pristine production we’ve come to expect from rshand’s music. It exudes pure happiness, and as the first taste of the album, sets the stage for an absolutely phenomenal record set to come from the young visionary.
On his Instagram account, rshand shared that the album was birthed following a particularly challenging battle with his health. “This time last year,” he said, “I felt lucky to be alive following a series of health complications with little expectation I would be come out the other side almost fully recovered after one year.”
This experience led him to pursue music full-time, rather than continuing his chosen path to become a software engineer. Since then, he’s been traveling the world. In the past few months, he’s played shows in Australia and Japan, with more domestic show appearances, including one in Boston, set for later this year. “I thought that subscribing to a lifestyle that made me miserable for 8 hours a day was ‘mature and responsible,'” he shared. “But, in a time where my only wish was to be healthy again, I knew I had cheated myself out of the life I was born for.”
If “Adore” is any indication, it seems like he’s made the right choice. We can’t wait to hear the rest of this album.
