REPORT: Snap To Lay Off Around 100 Engineers

In the wake user dissatisfaction with Snapchat’s recent update, and users flocking away from the app, Snapchat parent company Snap, Inc. will be laying f around 100 engineers, reports CNBC.

This will be the largest lay f for Snap in the company’s history, and reportedly the first to affect engineers.

The news aligns with Snap’s efforts to shift away from stware as many its features (and users) are being poached by Instagram and similar apps.

Snap declined to comment.

The announcement is expected to be made internally within the company this week.
