R. Kelly is being detained in Chicago after being arrested on Thursday, July 11, on 13 counts, including charges relating to child pornography, sex trafficking and the obstruction of justice.
NYPD and Home Security officers made the arrest at 7pm while the 52-year-old was out walking his dog, CNN reports.
Joseph Fitzpatrick, U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman, said: “The counts include child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice.”
Buzzfeed News is also reporting a separate 5-count indictment against R. Kelly is due to be unsealed in Brooklyn today, July 12
R. Kelly’s publicist Darrell Johnson said he plans to make a statement about the developments today after a news conference in atlanta.
