On the heels of EDC Orlando, the stadium that hosts the festival just got a huge makeover approved! The Orlando City Council on Monday gave final nod to a $400 million renovation project for Camping World Stadium. That’s the stadium venue where EDC Orlando is held in the surrounding property each year. It marks a symbolic investment in the venue, coming ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ temporary move to the city. Oh yeah, it won’t be called Camping World Stadium anymore, but the new naming rights have not yet been determined.
The subsequent funding associated with the project has also been sanctioned by the council. With a scheduled start date in late 2025, the target completion date of December 2027 will perfectly fall in place for the Jaguars’ first season in Orlando. The team will be there temporarily due to renovations at their own stadium. All of these timeframes are subject to final approvals being in place.

During the project, bench seats will be removed and new bowls will be added to the north and south sides to create a fully symmetrical stadium. Metallic exteriors and a hurricane-resistant shell are a hallmark of the new design. It is proposed to blend iconic architectural elements with modern safety improvements. Best yet, there will be a retractable stage pocket in the south seating bowl to host large live music events. Consequently, these improvements will enhance the stadium’s capacity by 2000 approximately, leading to a total capacity of above 65000 for game days.
