A brand new compilation and competition will have fun the Sydney scene's shift and resilience beneath the town's lockout legal guidelines.

'Blue Line Steppers' is a two-part challenge from native label Of Leisure, with half one, the 12-track digital and vinyl compilation of home, techno, breaks and extra from a bunch of Sydney heavyweights and rising artists, out November 16.

Part two's a day competition stacked with twenty-two native dwell membership acts and selectors for 10 hours at Manning House on January 19.

The idea explores the impression of the lockout regulation restrictions on metropolis bars and golf equipment, launched in February 2014, which have been "initially a knockdown for established crews, promoters, producers and DJs alike", in line with the label.

"(But) the laws inspired a new breed of party-goer and thrower, keen and hungry to hold the vibe alive in extra obscure settings out of the public eye."

'Blue Line Steppers' is derived from the blue practice line that runs from lockout-stricken conventional clubbing mecca Kings Cross via to the present renegade sizzling spots round Sydenham, Marrickville and past in Sydney's internal west.

"The identify represents the heavy migration of dance music party-goers from the internal metropolis to these outer industrial suburbs and warehouses," Of Leisure says.
