Denver’s favorite bass and pop culture sensation Mport has been on fire as of late, recently announcing a tour with TVBOO along with upcoming performances at Lost Lands and Wakaan Festival. His music cleverly samples iconic moments from pop culture—ranging from Owen Wilson’s distinctive voice to scenes from Harry Potter—blending humor, nostalgia, and massive energy in a uniquely engaging way. Now, he’s once again captured the essence of his playful yet powerful style with his latest EP, ‘Scene Selections.’
‘Scene Selections’ takes listeners on a nostalgic trip through Mport’s favorite scenes, movies, and media like “The 5 D’s,” inspired by the comedy classic Dodgeball, and “I Promise,” which channels the irreverent humor of Team America: World Police. “Wumbology,” infuses a hilarious AI-induced conversation between SpongeBob and Patrick, and “Hot Rod (Cool Beans),” is about as close to a masterpiece as we can get, especially for fans of the movie.
“This longer EP is based around sampling some of my favorite scenes and media. Everything I used has made me belly laugh to tears at some point, personally, so I wanted to add my production twist on them. Also, it makes for great live visuals. As seen at my bluebird show recording I just uploaded to YouTube.
