Irish techno stalwart Matador has announced a brand new vinyl-only series called Cyclone.

The press release for the new project states that the new series is an effort to "pay homage to the nascent years of his career, crate digging in Dublin’s record stores."

The first Cyclone installment is a three-track EP titled 'Cyclone Vol. 1' that is set to drop on August 1. With a sound that indicative of the series name, all three tunes on the white-label release are said to be "fast and furious, power-packed and compelling."

In addition to the introduction of Cyclone, Matador plans to start another musical concept called 95 BPM: Music To Fill The Space. Matador, who is also a trained chef, came up with the idea during a dinner party he was hosting in Los Angeles.

Taking a step away from his heavy techno palate, 95 BPM is a dinner-meets-music concept in which Matador designs a menu and performs an ambient, downtempo set of his own design for those in attendance. Further details on this facinating and delicious new series to come soon.
