Marshmello made his Tonight Show debut last night with Anne-Marie, playing their collaboration “Friends” to a national televised audience.
Anne-Marie stood front and center for the performance, belting her heart out and easily conveying her cheeky and playful attitude to the crowd and camera. Marshmello, unable to really connect with the audience except for some basic gestures, stood in the back and manned a synthesizer and a drum pad.
The Tonight Show’s generally older audience was probably wondering why this person in a light-up marshmallow helmet was serenading them on their Tuesday night, but Anne-Marie’s performance certainly brought them to a manageable middle ground.
