The first posthumous track by Avicii, titled 'SOS', has been released following the artist's tragic death on April 20, 2018.

'SOS' features vocals by Aloe Blacc and is also the first taste of the new music that will be found on Avicii's forthcoming album 'TIM'. The new material was completed by the songwriters that the artist was collaborating with who used his notes, email conversations and text messages about the music in order to "continue the process to get as close to his vision as possible".

Avicii's co-producers Albin Nedler and Kristoffer Fogelmark opened up about Avicii's music and production style: “He had a completely different way of playing piano and keyboard. As a result, his fingers would sometimes strike an unusual key, which added to his unique sound. Tim's fingerprints are literally across the entirety of 'SOS.'"

Aloe Blacc, who had collaborated with Avicii in the past, also commented on the vision behind the new track: “I feel like 'SOS' was a song that was probably ahead of its time for when he wrote it. He wrote these lyrics obviously about some of his battles, and I think it’s a really important topic to approach and to share, especially with his visibility and his access to ears and hearts. To give people the words to be able to say ’I need help.’”

Avicii's album 'TIM' will be released on June 6. All proceeds from the album will go to the recently established Tim Bergling Foundation, a non-profit that helps prevent mental illness and suicide.
