It feels like there are more melodic house labels out there than you can shake a stick at. Every few months, yet another one pops up. And, more often than not, there are very few things separating the label from the dozens of others out there. Sadly, because of this, they usually aren’t quite able to reach the same highs as the big players in the scene – think Colorize & Enhanced Chill, Monstercat Silk, This Never Happened, the like.
And yet, Rewoven, a fairly new label launched in 2023, is on a trajectory to become the next one of those big players.
The amount of growth the label has seen in a comparatively short amount of time is noteworthy. They’ve certainly caught our attention, as well as the attention of hundreds of fans across the glove. Six of their releases were added to the SiriusXM Chill rotation in 2024, and several of their releases have caught the attention of Beatport’s editors, as well as major curators on Spotify.
A Brief History
Rewoven was founded by Serge “Stendahl” Tolstov and Alex “Mango” Golovanov, two veterans of the melodic house scene. They aren’t just talented artists: the both of them also work in the industry full time, with Tolstov being an artist manager and Golovanov being the mastermind behind Mango Alley, Beatport’s top progressive house label of 2024. This is part of what helped separate them from the crowd from the get-go: they’ve been able to use their industry contacts and knowhow to quickly steer the label in the right direction.
With decades of experience under their belts, they launched Rewoven in 2023 and brought on a few fellow veteran names of the melodic house scene, such as Blood Groove & Kikis and Sound Quelle. Their roster quickly expanded with many more talented producers across the globe, including a few of our 2025 artists to watch: Etza, Elliot Vast, and Blugazer. They’ve released every other Wednesday since launch, and have not missed a beat yet.
The label also hosts the “Rewoven Presents” mix series, where they invite the label’s artists and some of their talented friends to host a bi-weekly hour long mix.
From the start, it’s been clear that the label’s success so far has been thanks in part to its extremely strong leadership. We figured we’d reach out to Tolstov and Golovanov to hear a bit more about Rewoven as a whole, the reason they started a new label, and what fans can look forward to in 2025.
Could you introduce yourselves briefly, both as artists and as music industry professionals?
Tolstov: You may know me under the Stendahl alias. I’ve been producing music for over a decade with numeruos releases on such labels as Monstercat Silk (ex Silk Music), Sekora, Enormous Chills, Armada and many others. I’m also doing artist management and, of course, A&R for Rewoven where I also release my own stuff. By the way, the latest Rewoven release is my collaboration with the talented Chris Savor.
Golovanov: I’ve been producing melodic/chill house and progressive house since around 2008 under my “Mango” alias. I’ve released on such labels as Monstercat Silk, Anjunadeep, Armada, Global Underground, Selador, The Soundgarden, etc. I’m still producing on a more or less regular basis nowadays, but my main occupation is label management, A&R, and artist management. I run my own Mango Alley imprint, I do A&R for the two other labels called Maldesoule and Digital Emotions, and recently I teamed up with my long time friend Serge (Stendahl) to start Rewoven.

What made you realize that you wanted to start a new label? How long did the full setup process take, from inception to first release?
Tolstov: The idea of creating my own label had been on my mind for quite some time. I wanted to help artists get their music heard while also having flexibility in scheduling my own releases. I invited Alex to become my partner since he already had extensive experience and several labels of his own (Mango Alley, Maldesoule). I was thrilled when he agreed. The preparation process for launching the label took us about three months, which was quite fast. In July 2023, we started gathering material from artists, and by October, our first release was out.
Golovanov: Even though for the last 8-10 years I was fully focused on progressive house, melodic tracks hold a special place in my heart from back in my early days and my A&R work as Silk Music (currently Monstercat Silk), so when Serge came up with the idea of launching a brand new melodic & chill house label, I felt it could be a very nice experience and a project we could definitely succeed in, keeping in mind our vast experience in the genre.
There are a ton of melodic house labels out there. What is it that makes Rewoven special?
Tolstov: Rewoven stands out because we approach our label as more than just a release platform—we see it as a creative space where artists feel truly supported. We focus on quality over quantity (one release in two weeks), carefully curating each release to ensure it has artistic depth and emotional resonance.
Golovanov: To add to what Serge already mentioned, I think one of the keys to our fast growth and recognition is that we’re both artists, we know how the scene works on both sides, and that helps us a lot – when running Rewoven we always keep in mind the interests and expectations of both sides.
Have you experienced any hardships in the label’s short lifetime? If so, how have you overcome them?
Tolstov: I can’t say we had any difficulties along the way. At first, I was worried that it would be challenging to get enough material from artists to plan the release schedule at least a few months ahead. But in the end, the artists trusted us so much that we now have almost all of 2025 scheduled. We are immensely grateful to all the artists for their trust in us.
Golovanov: Starting a label is always difficult, especially the first couple years, but I’ve already launched 3 labels myself, so I knew what to do, what to expect, what to be prepared for in the short and in the long run, and Serge got into the process very quickly and we worked out our workflow during the first couple months, so it’s safe to say even though Rewoven is still pretty new, our work processes are the same as of an established label.
What made you want to start the Rewoven Presents series?
Tolstov: We wanted to develop our own mix series to give artists an additional platform to promote their music. For guest mixes, we invite both Rewoven artists and our good friends from the industry.
Golovanov: Yes, the idea is pretty simple – showcase our artists and friends, their releases and their tastes, and to give our fans a regular source of good music for their daily commute, work, or leisure.
2024 was a big year for you guys, with six tracks reaching the rotation at SiriusXM Chill and 20+ releases. What went right for you last year?
Tolstov: Yes, we also believe that for a young label that is just making a name for itself, this is a great result for the first year. We plan to continue growing and achieving new milestones, both for ourselves and for our artists.
Golovanov: I believe it’s also because we’ve been doing it with passion from day 1. When you approach art with passion and inspiration, everyone gets touched by it. We knew what music we wanted to represent on Rewoven, we knew how we want the arts and media to look like, we had a clear concept behind all this, and our fans, artists and partners felt it too. And that’s definitely what we’ll continue doing!
Who are some artists on your roster that you’re particularly excited about right now?
Tolstov: Believe us, we are proud of every artist and don’t single anyone out in particular. We truly enjoy listening to our catalog. It’s not too big yet, but we are genuinely filled with pride for every release.
Golovanov: Cloudcage [In case you were wondering, that’s me.]
As you enter your second full year as a label, do you have anything exciting planned?
Tolstov: Definitely! This year, we have several compilations planned— a format we haven’t released before. The first will be a collection of tracks from both well-known artists in the Melodic/Chill/Deep House genres and promising newcomers. The second compilation will feature previously released tracks, reworked in Chillout and Downtempo styles. The artists were excited to explore this format, and we believe it will be a great experiment.
Golovanov: Right, the new Compilation format for introducing new artists was a great idea – Rewoven is only in its second year, but we already receive A LOT of great submissions. Some of them just can’t be fit in our yearly release schedule, so the new Compilation series will help new artists get to the label, showcase their music, and potentially have a full single/EP release on Rewoven in the near future.
Do you have anything else you’d like to share?
Tolstov: If you’re looking for music that’s crafted with care and emotion, give our releases a listen. We put our heart into every track, and we hope you’ll feel it too.
Golovanov: Find Rewoven on YouTube or SoundCloud and simply press “Play” – the music will tell a lot more than any interview can fit!
