Julia Louis-Dreyfus has hit out at Donald Trump over women’s rights in America.

The star, who previously played a female vice president in Veep, took to social media ahead of the US presidential elections on November 5 to criticise the former US President.

Louis-Dreyfus, who recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, said: “OK, let’s cut to the chase. Donald Trump and his merry band of yes men are obsessed with what we women do with our bodies.

“They want to reach into our doctors’ offices and our bedrooms to control our access to birth control and IVF and, of course, abortion – even though they wouldn’t know a uterus if they had to crawl out of one for a second time.”

She went on to say that Harris will “fight to win back reproductive rights” that were rolled back following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, which meant abortion would no longer be protected as a federal right in the US for the first time since 1973, and each state would have to decide individually whether to restrict or ban abortion.

Louis-Dreyfus went on to urge people to vote for Harris before adding: “Because, I don’t know about you, but I’d really like to get the government out of my fucking snatch.”

Earlier this summer, she insisted that she doesn’t believe Harris is anything like the female vice president she played in Veep.

“Let me explain to you, on Veep I played a narcissistic, megalomaniac sociopath, and that is not Kamala Harris,” she said, adding: “It might be another candidate in the race.”

The series originally aired between 2012 and 2019.

Elsewhere, Joni Mitchell shared her thoughts on the upcoming US presidential elections and Trump at her recent Joni Jam concert in Los Angeles.

Mitchell performed the political track ‘Dog Eat Dog’ for the first time since 1985 at the weekend. At one point a fan shouted an insult directed towards Trump, prompting Mitchell to shout: “Fuck Donald Trump”.

Dave Bautista recently roasted Trump too, taking aim at the presidential candidate’s masculinity saying he “wears more makeup than Dolly Parton.”
